Privilege Statement
As a therapist, I am aware of the inequalities and inequities that exist in a society where some humans receive more social, financial and institutional benefits over others. I am aware we exist within a capitalist system where dehumanisation of some people is what keeps others in privilege and in power. I continue to unpack, untangle and understand how I have benefitted from my privileges as an educated, heterosexual, cisgender, English-speaking person with good access to Nature. I seek to understand how those different from me have experienced great disadvantages as they have moved through the world. I acknowledge that I may have blind spots and make assumptions, for which I endeavour to be accountable.

As a working class woman of colour who has experienced racism, classism, sexism and ableism, I can empathise with these forms of oppression. I understand the transgenerational and collective trauma that lives in our bodies as a result of this oppression. I feel called to warmly welcome those of you who need support to explore how these experiences have impacted your physical, emotional and mental health and well being.

I welcome any questions you may have on the above statement, should you need more clarity.
